The Walden School 2006 Concert Series, Artists-in-Residence & Festival Week Events

All events (except the July 14 & 16 Odd Appetite/New Zealand String Quartet concerts and the July 28 Choral Concert) are presented in the Louise Shonk Kelley Recital Hall on the campus of the Dublin School in Dublin, New Hampshire.

Cyrus Chestnut, Piano
TIME Magazine says that what makes Chestnut, a Walden alumnus, “the best jazz pianist of his generation is a willingness to abandon notes and to play space.”

Anna Elashvili, violin; Renana Gutman, piano
Walden School alumna Anna Elashvili returns to Walden to perform a recital featuring works by Schubert and Debussy, among others.

Sunday, July 9, 7:30 pm
Del Sol String Quartet with pianist Eva Maria Zimmerman

This award-winning and Grammy-nominated ensemble, based in San Francisco, performs a program of world premieres written by Walden faculty members.

Odd Appetite and the New Zealand String Quartet
The Village Voice calls Odd Appetite “expert virtuoso players.” These concerts are presented in conjunction with Monadnock Music (www.monadnockmusic.org).

The Walden School Players

The ensemble, comprising Claire Chase (flute), Dave Eggar (cello), Vesselin Gellev (violin), Eric Huebner (piano), Meighan Stoops (clarinet), and Jason Trueting (percussion), will perform a program of contemporary American chamber music.

These three programs feature students and faculty performing student works-in-progress and include open discussions with composers, faculty, and their fellow students.
